Crumbling Coast was a project I started to become familiar with UEFN. My goal was to create a compelling environment while learning the toolset, allowing me to apply that knowledge to future work; whether building projects in UEFN, using Epic's assets as reference when creating my own modular kits, or informing the workflows I use when developing or consulting on tools and pipelines.
Also good to note... The geometry of the map was 100% built around the existing island template in UEFN. I challenged myself to design purely with additive structure and make no changes to the landscape that was there. No particular reason besides thinking that would be a fun exercise as those constraints aren't usually present with my work.
I spent around 12 hours (across 4 days) on this project in total, including exploring potential settings, searching for and organizing asset packs relevant to the build, creating the point of interest, and capturing screenshots. Some areas are still lacking set dressing and polish. Since this was intended as an exploration, I chose not to focus on fine details so I could stay aligned with my goals and avoid expanding the scope unnecessarily.
Even with a few rough edges, I wanted to share the project in the hope that it provides inspiration to others.
